EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine


Our partner organisations are representative of many of the sectors, and employers, that will benefit from our graduates.

This Centre is a collaboration between the following faculties, schools and institutes at the University of Leeds.

  • Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (iMBE), Mechanical Engineering
    iMBE is one of the world's top 10 bioengineering research institutes. With a goal of 50 active years after 50 iMBE is dedicated to improving the quality of life of an ageing population.
  • School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS),
    Faculty of Biological Sciences
    The School has a strong emphasis on inter-disciplinary activity which develops the boundaries between traditional disciplines.
  • Centre for Molecular Nanoscience (CMNS)
    An interdisciplinary centre involving approximately 40 academic staff from the Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, and Medicine and Health faculties at the University of Leeds.
  • Basic Dental Sciences Research Group,
    School of Dentistry
    This group are involved in flagship, cross-Faculty initiatives aimed at translating fundamental and applied research findings for maximum clinical benefit and wealth creation.
  • Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Muscular Medicine (LIRMM)
    This institute is dedicated to improving diagnosis, therapy, intervention and outcome across the spectrum of rheumatic and musculoskeletal medicine.
  • Centre for Technical Textiles, School of Design
    The Centre’s mission is to achieve excellence in fundamental and applied research in fibrous structures whilst promoting interdisciplinary collaboration in all science and engineering fields related to technical textiles.
