Business of Science Leadership Award 2019

Date

First awarded in 2017, the Business of Science Leadership Award is a national award, paying tribute to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding business leadership in an area of science and innovation.  The judges make a “Special Recognition” award to an individual who has demonstrated excellence to the business of science within the geographical proximity of the annual conference.

The award in 2019 was given to Professor John Fisher.

Professor Eileen Ingham collected it on his behalf at the 4th Annual Business of Science Conference held in Leeds on Thursday 16th May 2019.

In a conscious move to further widen the scope and audience of the conference, the 2019 event held in Leeds celebrated the Science, Innovation and strengths of the wider Yorkshire and Humber region. In addition to celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the first moon landing, the conference explored STEM, Diversity and Education, the commercialisation of 2D materials, Water as a precious resource, Sustainability and Society and the business and science of Formula 1®
