Gold Medal Winner - Wrightington John Charnley Day 2024

iMBE is pleased to acknowledge the recent recognition of Mackenzie Smeeton, who has been named the Wrightington John Charnley Gold Medal Winner 2024.
Wrightington Hospital is a specialist hospital and Centre of Excellence for orthopaedics with a rich history in the field, notably serving as the workplace for Sir John Charnley, the pioneer of hip replacement surgery. In his memory, Wrightington hosts an annual Gold Medal Research Day to recognise the latest and greatest research from both clinical and academic settings.
Mackenzie was awarded the Gold Medal for her presentation titled "Impingement During Dislocation Prone Activities of Daily Living in Dual Mobility and Standard Acetabular Cups: A Geometric Model." In addition to the Gold Medal, Mackenzie received a monetary prize and her name has been engraved on the Honours Board within the Wrightington Hip Centre in recognition of her contribution to orthopaedic research.
Congratulations to Mackenzie for this achievement.
